Parking at the Airport Trailhead

There have been some recent changes/updates around the Airport Trailhead in Carrabassett. Located at the north end of the airport and behind the Sugarbowl, this trailhead allows access to the south end of the Narrow Gauge Pathway as well as the main trailhead for Maine Huts and Trails leading to the Poplar Hut and surrounding waterfalls. Some trail users used to access these areas by parking off of the Old Huse Mill Road close to the Bill Munser bridge over the Carrabassett river. This is no longer an option. CBCC race weekend is almost here!

The Carrabassett Backcountry Cycle Challenge is coming up this weekend. Racers from all over the country will be in Carrabassett Valley to participate in 25K, 50K or 100K races on some of the best, and toughest trails in the state. Don’t forget there’s also a kids race!
