Stoney Brook Mountain Bike Trails

The Stoney Brook Mountain Bike Pod is open for riding for the 2025 season. Located in Wyman just a few miles North of the Sugarloaf Access Road, it has it’s own parking area, kiosk and restroom. This area boasts some great features in a remote mountain setting. Also, across Route 27 is the Stratton Brook Pond Road which allows you access the the Esker Trail, Dead Moose Trail and more backcountry type riding away from the more populated Outdoor Center and Narrow Gauge Pathway Pods. Parking at the Airport Trailhead

There have been some recent changes/updates around the Airport Trailhead in Carrabassett. Located at the north end of the airport and behind the Sugarbowl, this trailhead allows access to the south end of the Narrow Gauge Pathway as well as the main trailhead for Maine Huts and Trails leading to the Poplar Hut and surrounding waterfalls. Some trail users used to access these areas by parking off of the Old Huse Mill Road close to the Bill Munser bridge over the Carrabassett river. This is no longer an option. Made official by current FAA runway protection status, please utilize the correct parking area. [Read more…]
