Grand Falls; Scenic Drive and Hike

Looking to get out and Explore this weekend? Check out Grand Falls! A series of logging roads will get you about a mile from the falls. A vehicle with higher clearance is recommended and be sure to get out and check out any rough spots just to be safe. Fuel up beforehand and grab some food or supplies at the local establishments in Carrabassett, Stratton and Eustis. Dead River Area Historical Society

Located on the corner of routes 27 & 16 in Stratton you’ll find the Dead River Area Historical Society. It may look like just an old church from the outside, but inside is chock full of artifacts and exhibits which chronicles the rich history of this area. From Benedict Arnold’s march through the area to Quebec, local Celeb Jud Strunk to the flooding of the towns of Dead River and Flagstaff there’s a ton to see.
