Now that Reggae fest has past and the summer season is in sight, it’s time to make summer plans. There are lots of options here in the Valley to participate as well as employment opportunities. Maine Kayak Expeditions run by the owners of Happy Tunes offers summer kayaking trips on both Flagstaff Lake as well as the famous Rapid River. Talk about making memories that will last a lifetime! CVA Backcountry Program on WSKI TV
Carrabassett Valley Academy, a Ski and Snowboard Academy at the base of Sugarloaf, has been pouring out world class athletes for decades. One of the newer programs they have on offer is the Backcountry Program. This non competitive program fosters skills having to do with human powered skiing and riding. Skinning, hiking and even some mountaineering along with all the proper safety skills needed to properly ski and snowboard in the backcountry.
