Carrabassett is the largest taxpayer in Franklin County.
Once upon a time, that was a far fetched notion. Recreation is more than a past-time, it is our economic driver & the reason most of us live here. Affordable housing for all of us who work here is a big challenge & one which is being currently worked upon regionally. AND Bob also has this lovely little Coffee Roasting business/passion for what we all have come to love as best coffee on the planet: Carrabassett Coffee is everywhere, buy yours from where it comes in downtown Kingfield or order it online: https://shop.carrabassettcoffee.com/
New owners of Mountainside Grocers
Sarah Bell & Mike Thomas are Carrabassett residents who have purchased the store at the bottom of the Access Rd. & are making changes & improvements such as increased hours to accommodate guests better & hundreds of new items, already, that have not been available previously. “We want it to be a store of the people & for the people”. We at WSKI could not be happier!
Sustainability in earnest at last!
A new full time local position to try to steer the Mountain’s activities towards a Net Zero Emissions Future, is a step in the right direction. As outdoors people, the health of our planet has been close to our hearts our whole lives, so we are very happy that we will no longer be the only ones who turn the lights off in Admin!! Welcome Bea, we are On Board all the way!!
Where we are & where we are going: Carrabassett’s recreation IS our MO

CV Town Trail Master Josh’s Autumn Update!
Carrabassett’s MTB scene continues to grow with strategic development led by our fearless friend Josh Tauses.
Stoney Brook trail network is outside of CV, but the State owned land is ours to ride thanks to the funds raised by CV Rec dept.
It started with volunteers, it continues with careful planning & sustainable building. Get out & RIDE!!!
