Their motto is “You Can’t Beat our Meat”! Make sure you try their fresh sandwiches or pizza, or COOKIES (I’m addicted..)! My shop is the Pine’s Market, period. It’s like walking into “Cheers” where everyone knows your name!! Locally owned, complete grocery store offering everything you need in one stop including take-out. Open every day of the year with fresh produce, the best meat cuts, fresh deli and bakery goods, sundry items; household items, hardware, clothing; all the gear you need for your adventures here in the Maine High Peaks! 24/7 gas, hunting and fishing licenses, a tagging station, a gas filling station, a propane filling station, canoe and kayak rentals, & now FOR SALE, too!
Always interesting to see their Hunting Stats each season for Bear, Deer, Moose & Spring Turkey, too! Check it out your next visit!

Here’s a Local with Stories to Tell!

May 12, 2018 by WSKI Leave a Comment

Fred Townsend literally helped create the resort of Sugarloaf in its earliest days, as a local guy, whose Dad took care of the Coburn Gore Rd (that was a very rugged route to Canada in those days). They lived in that remote & beautiful wilderness, which is a great way to grow up TRULY outdoors!! Hard working, handy with anything as necessary, & always w/ a wicked good sense of humor, Fred’s got the best stories about life here in the Maine High Peaks (& beyond; he’s done the cross the country motorcycle journey several times!). Thanks for being our guest on WSKI’s Mountain Report this spring, Fred. We need to have you on as a regular next season!
