On our Friday tour around to see what’s happening this weekend we got some great news from the Shipyard Brew Haus. The details are still being worked out but the plan is that they will be open for the summer season. This is great news for all the mountain bikers, golfers, hikers, paddlers, and anyone who enjoys Carrabassett Valley in the Summer season… [Read more…]
Look who we ran into at the Pines!?! Sandy & her wicked cute FRIENDS from Tea Pond!
Another of our Region’s real gems. As if the food, drinks, atmosphere & friendly people weren’t enough, this adorable Golden family alone is worth the wee ride out to Tea Pond’s “Off the Beaten Path” Restaurant & Pub!! Bonus time open as long as we can keep spring at bay; as long as the snow prevails over mud season, jump on your sled, jump into your car, & pay them a visit cuz it really is well worth the trip!!
Carrabassett Valley Bike… not too early to think about the MTB season ahead here in the capitol of Maine MTB scene!
How We Do It. From the grassroots growth of MTBing in CV… no years of planning around a table, no Gov’t Ec Development instigation, indeed, the many locals like Bob Ash who worked to make it possible to share their passion for MTBing with others, have subsequently created a whole new dynamic for economic opportunity here in CV through increased tourism numbers in the warmer months.
Find Bob at Valley Crossing year-round… tuning skis at Happy Tunes when they are open, running CV Bike out of that location when it is not!
BUY FROM A LOCAL!
YES, he can get you a new bike! Yes, he can fix you & your kid’s bike! Carrabassett Valley’s Town Meeting Wed. Mar. 13, 2019
The purest form of democracy! Most of our town’s property owners are not actually residents, so we record our Town Meetings for taxpayers to know what the money is going towards in CV! Not a bad showing of locals in a Town of 781! Never seen Dave blush so much as when we all sang him & Billy G. Happy Birthday at the end of the meeting!! Cheers!
Here’s a Father-Son Adventure few can match! Congrats, Andy & Ian McKendry
What happens when two of Sugarloaf’s finest, former Patrollers Andrew & Leslie McKendry, ‘grow up’ & have children? Their kids turn out to be exceptional, too!! Son Ian joined his dad on a long dreamed of trip from the Canadian border in Montana to the Mexican one in New Mexico, mainly along the forest roads of the Continental Divide, more or less! We are NOT talking FLAT terrain……majorly impressive! Glad to have them share their tales & wicked high bar for planning YOUR next Summer Adventure with YOUR kids!!! Don’t just dream it, make it your goal & GO GET IT….
