Jean Luce and Tim Flight stopped by to inform us about something they have been working on for quite sometime. Their efforts have paid off. Check out the History of Carrabassett Valley at www.history.carrabassettvalley.org. So much cool stuff to learn about and you’ll see why certain things around here are named as they are, etc. Did you know there used to be a zoo in Carrabassett?? Watch the interview and check out the website to see more!
It’s almost spring, & that means it’s time for Snowmakers’ Ball at Sugarloaf
If you’re inclined to be easily offended, skip this one… all bets are off for the shinanigans we used to get up to create our videos for the most important social event of the year, for the Mtn’s Ops crew at the end of every season since 1983. This video is from ’85. This is who we were/are/forever will be, no matter who ‘owns’ our Mtn!! Enjoy.
Talent? We’ve got it!! Community Theater comes to Stratton!

The production is “Daddy’s Girl” with a story line of a widowed diner owner, played by Peter Farnsworth, & a cast of local thespians that invite you to join them in the audience for this show… or sign up for the next production with the folks at Flagstaff General Store!

Update on CV matters w/ Town Meeting coming up on March 13
Carrabassett Valley is unique in so many ways with its incorporation coming after the Mountain became a ski area; so we tend to look at things differently than the average NE Town even tho that most prized of representations of true democracy, the good old fashioned New England Town Meetings which are part of the fiber of being a NE’er, is the way we determine what flies & gets funded, or dies in discussion & gets the ax! Always so much going on, Town Manager Dave Cota stopped by to bring us up to speed on this year’s hot topics. See you at the Outdoor Center on the eve of the 13th!
