Looking to hike Sugarloaf? Not interested in hiking up the exposed ski trails or work roads on the ski resort side of the mountain? Check it out via the Appalachian Trail!
The trail can be reached by traveling up the Caribou Pond Road about 1 mile north of the Sugarloaf Access road. Take your time and drive carefully as this road can be rough at times. You’ll drive to a yellow gate (previously concrete barriers as stated in the video). Park your vehicle here and continue up the road for about half a mile until you reach the Appalachian Trail Crossing. Follow the trail to the Left (south) following the white blazes.
