Crommett Overlook in Carrabassett Valley for excellent mountain views

With trail heads at the Campbell Field parking area (recommended),or the recreational parking area behind the JV Wing Snowmobile Clubhouse in the Valley, or the Maine Huts & Trails Stratton Brook parking lot just off Rt. 27 below Bigelow Station, the Narrow Gauge Pathway offers many options and side trails for all seasons of adventures. From close to the Campbell Field parking area is a hike up to Crommett Overlook with its fabulous views; varied terrain for year round adventures, on foot or pedal power.

Karl Strand & Crusher introduced Brent Larsen, new Director of Lifts, on our live Mountain Report Oct. 10th. A great opportunity to get the word out on what’s going on with the lifts on the mountain, & a big welcome to Brent to our Mountain! With plenty of challenges comes plenty of work to ensure our long-lived/loved lifts get the attention they require to ensure we all get to ride with peace of mind in the future! Thanks to everyone in the Lifts department for all their hard work behind the scenes to get things right!!!

Carrabassett Region NEMBA club members Dave Hughes & Josh Tauses met Kip at the Quad over Homecoming to talk about the incredible on-going improvements to increase mountain bike riding options for beginners to experts in Carrabassett Valley. Word is beginning to travel through the nation that we are a destination for this fantastic outdoors sport that can be enjoyed by all ages & fitness levels, & for FREE, right here in our beautiful backyard! A million Thank Yous to all who make it possible through their hard work to create these wicked fun & ecologically sensitive & sustainable trails!! If you haven’t been out to see for yourself, what are you waiting for??????? Get out & ride!!!!!!!

The Summer Views from Our Mountain

One of the best parts about living at a ski resort is having an easy way to see the view from up high of the surrounding mountains & valley below! Sugarloaf runs the SuperQuad on weekends during summer & autumn for everyone to have the chance to share the outstanding view & see why us ‘mountain people’ love where we live as much as we do! The view is unchanged from this raw (unedited) footage when the Gondi was a regular summer attraction; you just have to hike up a bit further to get to the summit for the same view of our surrounding peaks.
