Now they have moved to upstairs at the ‘Brick Castle’ in Kingfield above the Orange Cat Cafe. Whether you are looking for a serious addition to your wardrobe, or a more flamboyant bit of fashion for a fun event on your social calendar, the price is right, the items are fabulous, & the service couldn’t be nicer! Arnold Trail Historical Society reps visit WSKI
After years of trying to track someone down to be on our Mountain Report show to talk about this historical event that happened so ‘long ago’ but not at all ‘far away’, we found two locals who are part of the ATHS, Kenny Wing & Rocky Freeman, right under our noses! The story of Benedict Arnold’s march to Quebec City from Newburyport, Mass. is a tale of heroic efforts, valiant attempts to persevere… & harsh weather & conditions that led to very high attrition along the way…. with some of their worst terrain & experiences right in our backyard north to Lac Megantic! Check out arnoldsmarch.com for more info on this fascinating piece of history that you can explore.. re-trace their route & imagine as you go…!
Maine Huts & Trails for Outside Television
A few years ago, video producer Dave Huot showcased the new & growing Maine Huts & Trails to our affiliates across the USA with this video that aired from Coast to Coast. There are now FOUR Huts, & some faces have moved on to other ventures, but the jist of the piece remains relevant: MHT has the answers to your desire to cross-country ski, or hike or bike in the warmer months, through the Maine High Peaks region’s beautiful terrain, & enjoy the comforts of food & accommodation provided at the Huts at the end of your adventure!!
