Carrabassett Valley 2019 Summer Recreation Programs

Carrabassett Valley is no doubt a paradise for outdoor recreation. One thing the town does very well is exposing young people to the activities available right in their own backyard. This holds true for both local kids and kids from away. From Hiking, Paddling, Mountain biking, swimming, golf and so much more there are ample opportunities for the kiddos. Carrabassett Valley Recreation Director Deb Bowker spoke with us and explains what’s available this summer. Don’t worry it’s not too late to join in on any of these activities. Hurricane Knoll (trail 129) was the 2017 Riders Choice (favorite trail) winner for the Carrabassett Region. It offers fantastic views in all directions. Being high upon a knoll off of trail 50 in the Sugarloaf Outdoor Center it’s guaranteed to get your heart pumping. The trail is littered with smooth flowy singletrack as well as lots of bermed turns and some fun ledgey roll overs. It’s a must do if you’re riding in the Carrabassett Region. [Read more…]
