It’s feeling like fall here in the Maine High Peaks region, and a great hike to enjoy the cooler weather is the Shore Trail to Maine Huts and Trails’ Flagstaff Hut.
To get there:
Summer
Turn right onto Carriage Rd
Continue onto Carriage Rd
Turn right onto Dead River Rd
Sharp left onto Long Falls Dam Rd
Turn left into the Long Falls Dam rd Trail head
Winter
Follow ME-16 E to Long Falls Dam Rd in New Portland
Drive to Long Falls Dam Rd in Northwest Somerset
