The seasons are changing here in Northern Franklin County and the weather is getting cooler. This is a great time to get out in the canoes and kayaks. With the upcoming foliage the lower part of the North Branch of the Dead River in Eustis is a great paddle for all abilities, including kids. Lots of birds and wildlife can be seen along the way as well.
Put in at the bridge on Flagstaff road across from the Eustis post office. Paddle north until you get to the Eustis dam then head back the same way you came. Enjoy spectacular views of the Bigelow mountain range and neighboring mountains. Remember be safe, have a plan and always wear your life jacket.
