Take a Hike! Tumbledown Mtn.

March 26, 2012 by WSKI Leave a Comment

Looking for something to do? Love the Outdoors? Last weeks warm weather get you all fired up for warm weather activities? Well, your in luck. A great “springtime” hike or first hike of the season is Tumbledown mtn just north of Weld in Franklin county.  We took the Brook trail up to the summit of west peak on Tumbledown and enjoyed a great hike with spectacular views.

Directions to the trailhead: The Brook Trail leaves Byron Road approximately 4.4 miles from Webb Corner on rt 142. The Brook trail Trailhead is fairly well marked but I suggest setting your trip odometer when you make the turn at Webb Corner so you know you are in the general area. The DeLorrme Maine Atlas and Gazetteer is an essential tool for the Maine hiker.
