February 1st, 2020 was the date for the annual Carrabassett Fat Tire race at the Sugarloaf Outdoor Center. This year conditions were prime for the 4 lap 20 mile race or the 2 lap 10 mile race. Fatbiking is a great way to enjoy the area with lots of specifically groomed singletrack, snowmobile trails as well as limited riding at the Sugarloaf Outdoor Center. All year-round, there is plenty of activity north of Sugarloaf, too! There’s a great variety of dining and services options, Stratton is not only a great place to find excellent home-cooked food and friendly service as you stock up on supplies for your adventures, it’s also a really nice place to spend the day enjoying all there is to see & do at any time of the year!!!!
Check out some things to do in Carrabassett Valley from the many activities & classes available at the Anti-Gravity Complex at the Base of the Mtn, to the Library next door, art & special events with local residents & groups; never lacking for things to do, & Visitors are always welcome, too!!
Bob Ash is a great ambassador to our area. Mountain Biking in the summer and skiing in the winter (as well as Fat biking), he knows what’s up.
