The weekend of March 10th and 11th East Coast Snowcross was in Carrabassett Valley for two days of exciting racing. The races were held at the Carrabassett regional airport and also included shows from Rave-X. We were there with the camera to capture some of the action. The Rave-X Outer Limits Tour at Sugarloaf. They Came, they saw, they jumped!
If you missed all the high-flying action of the SnoCross and RAVE-X Outer Limits Tour this past weekend, don’t worry, because WSKI’s cameras were there to catch all the jumps and stunts! There was a huge wall of snow in front of the Base Lodge as a giant crowd poured in to watch the snowmobilers careen over it. There was some pretty impressive action, including a backflip! With All This New Snow, It's Time to Learn Moguls with Perfect Turn
It may have taken us until March, but we finally have enough snow out on the trails to give us some proper bumps! Moguls are one of the most difficult types of terrain to ski, let alone look good doing it. There’s no denying that modern skis are some pretty impressive technology. Carbon fibers, aluminum, I’m pretty sure mine have pure Kryptonite in them. People today tend to look at wooden skis as a relic, a fun museum piece, but nothing they could ever honestly ski on, and nothing that could match the performance of the latest Atomics or K2’s.
