Marcia White, Sugarloaf’s Children’s program director talks about some ways to support the Western Maine Center for Children as well as the Maine Lung Association by participating in some cycling events this summer. She talks up Outdoor Adventure camp as well as the scoop on a new kids glade located right under the Skidway lift on the mountain. Carrabassett Valley Town Lot; Forestry Practices and More…

Bob Carlton, Bill Haslam and Billy Gilmore visited the WSKI set to let us know exactly what goes on with forestry down at the “Town Lot” at the Sugarloaf Outdoor Center. A lot of planning goes into exactly what to cut, what to leave and when it’s just a good idea to wait. The profits gained from the wood harvesting go right back into the town trail system. Sugarloaf Fat Tire Day 2-10-18

Sugarloaf’s annual Fat Tire Day was held on February 10th, 2018 at the Sugarloaf Outdoor Center and was a ton of fun. The day included free demos, guided rides, live music from The Freemont Street String Band and refreshments from Baxter Brewing co. The day also included the Fat Tire Race which participants were able to choose between a long or short course. The conditions were challenging for the racers as fresh snow had fallen in the days leading up to the event but they all had smiles as they enjoyed the riding at the Sugarloaf Outdoor Center.
