Snow on the way again, hooray, looking more & more like a good old fashioned winter as each week rolls through w/ a bit more white heaven from above! Even if the wind blows a bit Monday, we’ll be skiing corn backside in April with glee, no worries. Speaking of the old days… the sights & sounds of Mid. Watch, Listen & Enjoy, I dare you to hear that sound without it bringing a smile to your face!! Then, Pause at this spot the next time you’re carving down Go-go Line & Look around….. Wonder if the trees still remember all the hooping & hollering that went on there when groomers never ever touched that trail & bumps grew to the size of VW bugs, sometimes, buses…??? From the Archives; a reminder that Fall is a great time to visit the Mountains!
Labor Day this weekend; the end of summer is nigh! Fall is a wicked nice time of the year in the mountains. The SuperQuad operates on weekends (weather permitting) as the gondi used to run daily during the foliage season; pic of Rosemary Drosky at mid-station on the way down in 1987. Vids from the summit (Rebecca Carey!) & of newly re-created East side of the Mtn.
4th of July in CV; it’s a tradition!
This year’s events last all afternoon, capped off w/ the fireworks at dusk Monday night! This footage from the ’80s shows the same spirit of community has been an integral part of life in CV for a long time… recognize anyone???
Summer Gondola Ride
Wonder if we’ll ever have anything like this way to summit our mountain again?
Grandparents & little ones, all enjoyed the ride up & down, & incredible panoramic view while having a picnic on the deck, with that full 360 degree view from the Whites & Quebec, to Maine from east to south, all visible with just a few steps on the rocks above the Octagon.
