The hiking trail up Burnt mountain in Carrabassett Valley begins at the end of Bigelow Mountain Road, off Mountainside road at Sugarloaf. Follow the signs to the trailhead. This is a moderate hike of about 3.5 hrs and just over 5 miles in length. You’re rewarded with a nice alpine hike above the mountain’s treeline as well as spectacular views of Maine’s High peak region!
