Ribbon-cutting day for new Bridge!

November 18, 2011 by WSKI Leave a Comment

After only 83 days since Irene took the bridges away, November 18 was the official opening of the new bridge at the bottom of Bigelow Hill & the Access Rd. in Carrabassett. It took an incredible effort from DOT, Reed & Reed & others, first, for their ability to have the temporary bridges in place so quickly, & now the permanent bridges in less than three months (at THIS time of year, that was a real coup!) They are a couple feet higher than the old ones, so a noticable difference, but from now on it is all is good to go for the winter season ahead when it comes to our roadways! THANK YOU to all who worked long & hard to make it happen![flv:NewBridgeNov18.flv thumb.jpg 480 360]
