Hurricane Knoll (trail 129) was the 2017 Riders Choice (favorite trail) winner for the Carrabassett Region. It offers fantastic views in all directions. Being high upon a knoll off of trail 50 in the Sugarloaf Outdoor Center it’s guaranteed to get your heart pumping. Take a Hike! Burnt Mountain
The hiking trail up Burnt mountain in Carrabassett Valley begins at the end of Bigelow Mountain Road, off Mountainside road at Sugarloaf. Follow the signs to the trailhead. This is a moderate hike of about 3.5 hrs and just over 5 miles in length. Orbeton Stream Celebration
The Trust for Public Land, The Maine High Peaks Alliance as well as Senator Susan Collins came together in Phillips, Maine to celebrate the completion of the Orbeton Stream Project.
