Reggae Run-down on WSKI’s Mountain Report
Here’s the Mtn’s Content Manager (& Snow Reporter) extraordinaire Jamie Walter sharing all the info to Know Before You Go for the 28th Annual Bud Light Reggae Fest that kicks off Thursday. With a perfect forecast, the snow holding tight on the hill, & spring fever pent up from the chilly temps the past couple of weeks, is there a better way to celebrate the official ‘Commemoration of Spring Event’ at the Mtn. that rules the Season!??! Footnote; Jamie’s photographs of an incredible display of Northern Lights over Flagstaff Lake & from the Mtn. blew Sugarloaf’s FB numbers off the charts last fall: a rare gift for us who live here to experience, even more rare for someome w/ Jamie’s talent to capture it to share with all.. Carrabassett River Canoe Race: another event from our Archives…
Sugarloaf held canoe races on the Dead & Carrabassett Rivers for many years during spring thaw, which drew paddlers from wide & far to take advantage of the high water-whitewater! It drew tons of spectators, too, with easy viewing along Rt. 27 in many places. Happy Spring memories from mountain melting water adventures in Carrabassett a while ago… the river still runs; go get it while you can!!!
