While it may not feel like summer outside lately, fingers crossed that the weeks ahead will. We’re looking forward to the mountain bike trails drying out and opening back up. Founders’ Night Red Stallion….
The Stallion was as much part of Sugarloaf’s history as the Mtn. itself for some of us!! When I started working & living there in 1973, Capt. America & Groovy were already legends though I don’t think either were out of their twenties yet! It was that kind of place, & it was the ‘70s…! This Founders’ Night footage was from 1999… Groovy has left us, but he will certainly never be forgotten for all the crazy cool wonderful things he did that made us laugh & smile. Capt. America? Between then & now he worked on the coast & in courthouses across Maine, blah blah, now he’s happily retired in CV full-time, cuz where else would he be??? LOVE always. Enjoy the look back thru these interviews before the Stallion was burned down in fall of 2003……
1998 Cable Television Video on Sugarloaf Golf Course
Now that Maine golf courses are being opened, here’s a look at ours from a few years back, produced by Boston’s Golf New England, not sure if ’98 is correct date!? We’re not ready to open the Sugarloaf course yet, obviously… look at the Mtn!! … but we’re hoping course conditions can have everyone out there soon. Golfing friends, please make sure to stay well clear of others when playing down country till you can safely play so easily here…!!
