A Sugarloaf Bird Man who shares his love & knowledge of feathered friends
“THE BIRDIST” JOINING MAINE AUDUBON TO LEAD OUTREACH EFFORTS! Headline from 2018.
Anyone who has the nickname of Birdist is pretty cool in our books. After his summer presentation at the library we invited Nick Lund to our studios to give our winter audience some insight on the wonderful world of birds around us here at Sugarloaf, in a changing climate, which is why, for example, we are seeing cardinals now popping by our feeders, when they NEVER used to be this far north. Nick is the real deal & has a couple books out to prove it, check it out: https://www.nicholaslund.com/

WHY WINTERKIDS?
WinterKids helps children develop healthy lifelong habits through education and fun, outdoor winter activity. We create opportunities for children to be active, vibrant, and healthy in the outdoors.
We help children and families enjoy healthy and fun outdoor winter lifestyles while nurturing a connection to the natural environment – at home, at school, and in the communities in which they live. Last year, WinterKids created opportunities for 26,000+ kids to get outside and active with their families last winter in all 16 counties of Maine with innovative, outdoor education programs.
