Sixth annual Backcountry Cycle Challenge July 15, 2017
The weather will be gorgeous, so come out to help or just to see the action, & to all participants: welcome to our backyard, we love sharing it with you, Good Luck!
The Town of Carrabassett Valley invites you to participate in the annual Carrabassett Backcountry Cycle Challenge, a mountain bike endurance event. The event will offer two course options—one approximately 25 miles, the other an endurance 60 mile ride. The courses will cover a great mix of backcountry mountain bike terrain winding through the beautiful, unspoiled forests and mountains of Carrabassett Valley and its surrounding communities, consisting of technical single track, double track and dirt roads, with steep climbs and exciting down hills. Your participation will support Carrabassett Region NEMBA trail maintenance and development, and the town of Carrabassett Valley mountain bike race fund for future events.

Part of what we do at WSKI-TV 17 & wskitv.com is offer our ability to Get the Word Out to local organizations who enhance our region with services & events that happen because local volunteers care enough to pitch in & do the necessary work. The Kingfield POPs is hands down the best example of what a small town can do to bring a significant amount of people to visit at a time of year when it would otherwise be quiet. Now in its 15th year, it is an annual tradition for families & friends, from near & far. If you’ve never been, you don’t know what you are missing… the sound is phenomenal, the setting incomparable, the freedom for kids & adults to get up & dance… you won’t find any of that at the finest Opera Houses in the world… they can’t compare to Mt. Abraham as a back drop! Don’t miss it!
