For 40 years, about half of CV has been owned by Maine’s Penobscot Indian Nation, who have been good care-takers of our backyard, & for whom we are grateful that permission to do the outdoor activities we enjoy year round on PIN land, continued more or less as it did when Dead River Co. owned the land previous to the landmark Land Claims Settlement. Nowadays, there are more activities, more trails, more people who live here or wish they did. Hopefully, we can keep decision making & management local for the half our Town that would be affected by impending legislation. Looking forward to open communication all around for this important relationship to succeed for everyone. Long-time CV Selectman Lloyd Cuttler was living here when this all happened originally, so is a good one to hear from on the subject.
