Jimmy Heuga Racing for MS on Bucksaw

August 13, 2015 by WSKI Leave a Comment

Jimmie Heuga was one of the first two American men to win an Olympic medal in Alpine skiing, and became a pioneering advocate of exercise and activity to combat multiple sclerosis, the disease that curtailed his athletic career. After the top-to-bottom Sugarloaf vertical challenge morphed into the Jimmy Heuga Fundraiser for MS, the objective of getting as much vertical as possible in one day caused the event to use a dedicated trail, Windrow, serviced by Bucksaw Chairlift. Now that Sugarloaf has announced Bucksaw is going away with no replacement being discussed, we are sad to see this family-friendly, wind resistant chairlift be quietly taken away this summer. Thanks for the memories, here are some to share!
