‘Old’ school lift instruction….

January 5, 2013 by WSKI Leave a Comment

It’s beginning to look like an ‘old’ winter with lots of SNOW, & a bit of wind & cold that make surface lifts an ‘old’ option still good to have so we can get to the snow stashes in various nooks & crannies on the mountain from the top of #3 (Bateau) T-bar!

Some ‘old-timers’ will remember when #5 was where Misery Whip is, off the top of King Pine. This archive footage may prove helpful for the current generation(s) who haven’t had the pleasure of growing up with surface lifts of ‘old’!!! Look over your shoulder on the side the T is coming to, place your behind AGAINST it, not ON it: it is NOT a chairlift!!!

Let it push you, gliding & paying attention to keeping your feet & body in line with the lift: no freestyling, please!

At the top, grab the T to pull it from behind you, & continue holding onto it, (GUIDING it even!) & directing it towards the direction of the springbox above on the cable where it will retract to, & let it go GENTLY!!!

Onwards & UPWARDS, even on windy days: thanks #3!
