February 1st, 2020 was the date for the annual Carrabassett Fat Tire race at the Sugarloaf Outdoor Center. This year conditions were prime for the 4 lap 20 mile race or the 2 lap 10 mile race. Fatbiking is a great way to enjoy the area with lots of specifically groomed singletrack, snowmobile trails as well as limited riding at the Sugarloaf Outdoor Center. Cranberry Peak is the western most peak of the 17 mile long Bigelow Range. About 6 miles round trip, it’s a great hike to give you a taste of what hiking on the Bigelows is like.
